Abit like scrap heap challenge. But without a scrap heap, just the piles of junk you know we all have accumilated (some of us more than others ;p).

The basic idea is this:

We have an awful lot of projects on the go, many of them progressing rather slowly (Boat?). And as yet, we only really have one complete project on the website and that was a quick hack that only kinda sort of worked (fireworks launcher).

So, the idea is this. One weekend: friday evening till sunday evening, the bobsbasement crew. One project. From start to finish. It needs to be something that is:

  • Acheivable
  • Simple
  • Technically interesting
  • Hardware
  • Software
  • Cheap

If we can get some project off the ground, through to completion, I think this will improve moral amoungst the group, and improve how we look to the world. Currently we have an awful lot of ideas, and an awful lot of "in progress" but not much thats done.

The event might need some planning, and some thought, and we will probably need to decide on the project in advance, and order in any specialist parts. So I am thinking a weekend towards the end of august, or early september.
