Windows Utility Package (working title)

From Bob's Basement

Jump to: navigation, search

zeloralel The 'Windows Utility Package', is a collection of tools, utilites, guides (written/audio/visual), InterWeb service indexes and scripts for Windows computers.

Everyone needs a tool kit, everyone has one so I am told. Although not one containing custom scripts, human readable documentation, InterWeb services and designed for custom as well as general purposes. And if there is one, let us know. Every little bit of info helps.

There will be a package for main tasks: Technician, penetration tester, privacy, server services, coding student, gaming, et cetera. (We are well aware that many of these packages share requirements of their sister packages. There will be a degree of duplication, only where it is deemed necessary.)

The first package will be the 'technician' package. In a nutshell a technician's toolkit available on portable media.

Evaluating Software required

Opensource/Freeware

Opensource/Freeware software would be ideal as this can be legally distrubuted.

Shareware

Shareware are programs that we would be able to distrubute but the end user would be liable to pay for if they were using it within the bounderies of the licence.

Commercial

Sometimes commercial software is the best solution to a problem. The end goal is to have a form of media that can be distrubuted. The legality of this prospect is not vaiable. Maybe a work around could be made where a module or patch could be applied if the end user has the software and their licence allows it.

Other (?)

This is where any thing not covered by the two above catergories would fall. This includes any scripts or custom coded programs. Custom made documentation and tutorials would be covered here as well.
